I started watching this truck on good, old, facebook marketplace when it was for sale a island over and 2 hours away.
For at least a month this advertisement haunted me. The timing was poor and I wasn't willing to spend the time and money on going to see it and trailer it home.
Like everything we wait to long to jump on, the truck listing vanished. I assumed it had sold, my loss. You should have seen my surprise when that same truck, was re-listed on marketplace. And jaw droppingly enough, it was now just 20 min away! Its not everyday items for sale on Vancouver Island come to the smaller ones, it felt meant to be.
So now that it was on the very same island that we live on...I had to have it.
But WHY did I want this, WHAT was the plan?

Introducing, Number 74——the work truck that just wasn't working the way I wanted it too. I had had enough. The roof lights leaked. The seats were moldy. Everything was coated in Mine dust from a long hard life in the interior of BC. But the engine was solid—mostly... That all being said, now that you know I was driving around in a biological sess pool that was probably going to kill me, I wanted to body swap it.
But not just into any old thing, I wanted to make something cool.
Deconstruction Began
Both trucks came apart together, side by side. As they were dismantled they were frankensteined together until a load of scrap was taken away and one truck remained.
A truck that would one day need to be comfortable enough, fast enough, tough enough and fun enough——that I wouldn't want to take my wifes 2022 high country everytime. End goal: Luxury interior that matches a modern vehicle. 500 HP LMM Diesel. Flat deck and tidy tank for work/practicality.
Updates coming soon...
